The site I talk about in this entry is the same as Tiger Gaming in that it is not US friendly. Everest Poker’s target audience is mostly people learning to play poker for the first time, making it an ideal place to rebuild a bankroll. No Limit stakes start at $0.10 - $0.10, and you can progress up to the highest stake of $50 - $50. This range is enough for most players, and people needing something lower or higher should consider alternate online poker rooms. By the way, that was not a typo up there. For some reason all No Limit stakes are detailed by stating the same value two times, but it’s really just the amount of the big blind. The small blind is then half either of the numbers (since they’re both the same). I thought you should know that before you make the download and spend half your night being confused.
Limit stakes are listed more sensibly; they start at $0.02 - $0.04 and the highest you can play is $50 - $100. As you can see, players hoping to play very high will need to go somewhere else. Sit and Go's can be played for as little as $0.04 + $0.01 and as high as $500 + $30. I already mentioned that if you live in the States, unfortunately it is the same as Tiger Gaming: Everest Poker is not on the US friendly poker sites list. In addition to the U.S., players from Russia and China are also not allowed on Everest.
The Everest Poker download has grown substantially over the past few years, and the team is trying as hard as possible to be considered a top notch poker room. Their growth is impressive considering they don’t share networks with anyone else; they have their own network called the Everest Network. Where traffic is concerned, the Everest Network has the 6th most players on the Internet today. If you are new to money poker sites, Everest is a solid starting point.
No site is perfect, however, this site included. One downside is that only Holdem and Omaha are offered. This is strange considering that most online rooms have the option to play at least Stud. If you have an older computer, you might also dislike the fact that the program uses more resources than a Full Tilt download. When it’s all said and done, however, there is a good chance you will encounter a lot more good than bad on Everest.
